SAN MARCOS HIGH SCHOOL
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA

The San Marcos High School girls lacrosse program competes in the Channel League with Cate School, Dos Pueblos High School, Nordhoff High School, Santa Barbara High School and Thacher School.

news

We have progressed to the SBUSD and San Marcos Athletic Department Phase II stage of our lacrosse restart using their return to play protocol.  All girls lacrosse players are still in pods for social distancing.  In Phase II we have added skill development drills using a stick and a ball while continuing our fitness training.  We eagerly await Covid-19 case counts going down in Santa Barbara County.  Girls lacrosse is one of the sports approved statewide for playing games in Red Tier.

The Santa Barbara Unified School District took its boys and girls lacrosse programs from club to varsity in 2015. It was only one year of club in 2014 and the district made it happen for their students eager to play the original North American game. Played as early as the 17th Century by the Iroquois Nation it is a sport with a long tradition.

OUR GOAL

Master Concept Of Team

First Let's

Discover
Discover your love for the game and being on a girls lacrosse team in a vibrant program. From there it's easy to start to want to get better, improve your skills and raise your Lacrosse IQ. Lacrosse can also open doors and opportunities worldwide.

Now let's LEARN

Get Better
It starts with something as simple as how to hold the stick. Big hands or little hands? When for those. Is a cross crease pass a good way to score? These are fundamentals. Proficiency at basic fundamentals needed to play at a high level.

IT'S UP TO US

Make It Happen
Occasional player or always playing and doing what you love? Year round fitness goals or just get in shape for the season? The more you play and work on your fitness and your skills the more feasible it becomes to raise your level of play.
