San Marcos Girls Lacrosse Season Ends In CIF-SS Quarterfinals
The Royals enjoyed the best season in the history of the program but their historic year ended with a three goal loss on the road at Martin Luther King High School of Riverside. The loss came in the CIF-SS Division 3 Quarterfinals for the best eight teams in all of that division of the Southern Section. The largest CIF section in the state, the CIF-SS encompasses six counties. They are Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside.
On their path to the play-offs San Marcos won the Gold Coast Invitational championship and the Channel League championship and finished with a 10-0 league record and 17-3 overall. In addition, the Royals JV team won the Channel League JV championship and finished 6-0 in league and 13-2 overall.
San Marcos came together at all the right times for the regular season successes and the league success. The post-season loss turns into a learning opportunity for future success and the family feature of the program will continue to grow. Opportunities to join the program are open for all levels of players, beginners through advanced. If you can commit to being one of our OTGs then click here to Learn More!

HISTORY
The Santa Barbara Unified School District took its boys and girls lacrosse programs from club to varsity in 2015. Lacrosse was not yet a CIF sanctioned sport then but SBUSD forged ahead anyway. It was only one year of club in 2014 and the district made it happen for their students eager to play the original North American game. Played as early as the 17th Century by the Iroquois Nation lacrosse is a sport with a long tradition.
